Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our team and oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance on one of our industrial projects.
The role involves:
- Analyze and comprehend industrial plant systems, including chemical processes, utilities, and structural components, to ensure the safety of demolition and maintenance activities.
- Implement and supervise the safe handling of hazardous materials and energy isolation procedures (lockout/tagout).
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with demolition activities, such as structural instability, gas leaks, and contamination, by developing and applying effective controls.
- Respond promptly to unexpected safety concerns or process deviations that arise during demolition and maintenance operations, ensuring immediate resolution and compliance with safety standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering
- A minimum of 15 years experience in health, safety and environmental management within industrial projects. (Brownfield project experience is essential)
- Excellent command of English
- Familiarity with local HSE laws and regulations in Turkmenistan.
- Internationally accredited certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, IASP, or equivalent).
- Comprehensive knowledge of international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, European Norms).
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills for site-based operations.
- Ability to adapt to and work effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the HSE Management System at assigned project sites.
- Establish and implement the company’s HSE Management System on project site in alignment with company headquarters’ standards.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation, international HSE standards, and management systems at the project level.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report project-specific HSE performance to the HSE Director.
- Conduct internal and external HSE audits to ensure project compliance with the company’s HSE plan, procedures, local legislation, and international standards. Prepare detailed audit reports.
- Participate in project-specific Client HSE meetings, acting as the primary representative for HSE matters.
- Monitor and assess the HSE performance of the assigned project, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit periodic HSE reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for review by company leadership.
- Ensure the project site adheres to all required safety measures and proactively address potential risks.
- Develop and maintain operational documents, such as procedures and instructions, specific to the assigned project and aligned with the company’s management systems.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to integrate HSE objectives into daily site activities.
