We are looking for an Environmental Chief to work within the Environmental and Social team inKars-Iğdır-Aralık-Dilucu High Standard Railway Project.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge on IFC/Equator Principles and Turkish Environmental Law,
• Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering,
• Minimum 7 years site experience in a company/project that utilized international finance,
• Experience in linear construction projects (roads, railways, pipeline, etc) and associated facilities (quarry, crusher, concrete batch plant, depot sites etc.) is a plus,
• Fluent English in both spoken and written,
• Environmenal Officer Certificate is required,
• Having valid drivers’s licence and actively driving,
• Good command of MS Office Applications.

Job Description:

• Good understanding and practical experience in IFC Performance Standards and national environmental regulations,
• Ensure that the project is constructed in compliance with the approved ESIA, ESAP, national EIA, Project Management Plans and supporting to E&S Manager,
• Lead the site Environment Team,
• Preparation of environmental management system related documentation,
• In cooperation with the technical team, develop and monitor the implementation of environmental commitments mentioned in the ESIA/ESAP,
• Conducting environmental monitoring studies (noise, vibration, soil, water, air etc.) periodically and verifying the results,
• Management of legal process for national EIA, environmental permits, and other environmental requirements,
• Participate in environmental pre-construction surveys and prepare assessment reports,
• Management of important changes not defined in the ESIA, made during the construction period and reporting the assessment,
• Providing technical guidance to the AYGM and other environmental legal authorities during site surveys,
• Perform internal audits within the scope of ISO 14001 EMS,
• Maintain relationships with construction management and other project-level functional groups to coordinate integration of project-specific environmental requirements to design specifications, construction plans, procurement requisitions,
• Conduct environmental compliance audits, inspections, and meetings.
